It is 155 years since the birth of Edith Dircksey Cowan, the Western Australian social worker, politician and social activist , and the University named after her is holding its annual showcase of research achievements, contributions to Local, National and International knowledge, collaborations and impact are presented during the week of activities, seminars, events and exhibitions across the campuses.

The program is broad, with many presentations and seminars. One of interest is looking at the ways that the arts contribute to people's health and wellbeing, linking personal and social healthcare practice, healthcare and medical services, health research and health promotion interventions. Other topics include the science of cycling with a focus on improving performance, ECU watermark getLINKED! master-classes which are  providing an opportunity for the business community to network with academics and researchers, a photographic exhibition of images from the universe taken from the Our Solar Siblings project and much more.

The Reseach Week also hosts ECU in a Nutshell, bringing together the research communication projects, Three Minute Thesis Competition, One Minute To Pitch It and Research Photography competition.
